Students who are transferring in the Spring from another academic institution, such as a community college or another university, will attend New Student Orientation program . You will become acclimated to the academic life on campus by meeting with your advisor and check out the many schools and majors Barry University has to offer. Once familiar with the academic program of choice, you will finalize your class schedule for the semester.
New Student Orientation
New Student Orientation helps you understand what it means to become a Barry Buccaneer and “Live a Barry Life” before classes start. You will learn about university resources and get to know your way around campus. You will enjoy team-building activities, workshops, and information sessions all designed to enhance your experience at Barry. Before you know it, you will have all the information you need to Live a Barry Life.
**Please note that the below dates ARE REQUIRED for all new students with less than 30 credit hours
Move In & Check In Residential Students Only
(All New & Transfer Students residing on campus are required to move in between 10:00 am – 4:00 pm)
Orientation Check In is 7:00-9:00 am Please get checked in by 9:00 am, Orientation kicks off promptly at 9:30am with A Barry Welcome.
If you have NOT taken a placement test, been advised, or registered for classes you will be able to do so. If you have, be prepared to settle in and have extra time to set up your room!
Registration and advising will take place until 6:00pm. Beginning at 1:00pm, after lunch, you will get to know all the resources Barry has to offer.
Start your Friday morning with breakfast in Roussell Dining Hall and then a full day of Orientation Activities.
Start your first weekend at Barry University with Brunch at Roussell Dining Hall followed by some BU spirit activities and Buccaneers Basketball.
