About the Exhibition

Curated by Fine Arts Department Chair Silvia Lizama and Fine Arts faculty and students, this exhibition captures historic images over five categories: Founders, Presidents, Early Buildings, Campus Life, and Educational Programs. The photos present life mainly, but not solely, from the 1940s through the 1960s. The historic photo exhibition honors the dedication of our founders, the Adrian Dominican Sisters, and the education they provided, which laid the foundation for today’s University. It took more than two years to produce, with countless hours spent curating, cataloging, restoring, retouching, scanning, and reprinting images from the Barry University archives.
