The Andreas School of Business held an induction ceremony April 3 for new members of the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society and the Financial Management Association International Honor Society (FMA), with the purpose of recognizing those students who, by their scholarly achievements, have qualified for membership.
Beta Gamma Sigma is the scholastic honor society established to encourage and honor academic achievement in the study of business to foster personal and professional excellence, to advance the values of the Society, and to serve its lifelong members. Membership in Beta Gamma Sigma is the highest recognition a business student can receive in an undergraduate or master’s program at a school accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).
The following students were inducted as new members:Althea Hylton; Austin Search; Ellen Hartman; Emily Gomez; Flavio Matteoli; Geneva Santos; Hanno Antoni; Heike Funk; Ibrahim Al-Faisal; Ivan Ortiz; Luisa Castillo Mantilla; Michael Cornely; and Rhasheda Weir.
Caroline Alves Da Silva was inducted as a Second Recognition member.
FMA recognizes scholastic achievement through induction of students who have demonstrated superior scholarship. Individuals accepted for membership in the honor society have the distinction of belonging to the only international honorary that specifically recognizes the achievement of finance majors, and demonstrates their expertise in areas such as financial economics and decision making.
