The Yellow Ribbon G.I. Education Enhancement Program also known simply as Yellow Ribbon Program is a provision of the Post 9/11 G.I. Bill. This program is designed to help veterans afford tuition at any college or university whose cost exceeds that of public colleges. The provision allows colleges to enter into an agreement with the Department of Veterans Affairs to help fund the cost of tuition that exceeds the highest public in-state undergraduate tuition rate. Colleges may contribute up to 50% of the additional expenses beyond what is offered by the G.I. Bill. The Department of Veterans Affairs will match that same amount.
Nineteen of the Independent Colleges & Universities of Florida (ICUF) institutions participate in the Yellow Ribbon program, and Barry University is proud to be one of these participating institutions. The maximum grants that Barry has committed to provide to our returning veterans above the basic federal benefits are as follows:
