Graduation Details:

Graduation rehearsal will be conducted on Wednesday, April 29 at 11:00 a.m. in Broad Auditorium. ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY, as we will practice the procession and hooding. Caps and gowns will be available for you to pick-up in the Broad Auditorium lobby from 12:00pm – 1:00pm immediately following rehearsal.

Be sure to come dressed in your cap and gown to graduation on May 2, by 9:15am. Please note that the caps, gowns, hoods and tassels are yours to keep. In previous years Barry rented the gowns that had to be returned. You have earned them, so now you may keep them.

During graduation you will be hooded in a special ceremony. Your family members /significant others, will come up on stage with you at this time (up to a limit of four individuals). You will be asked to provide the names of your hooding party on an online form.

The School of Podiatric Medicine will provide graduation announcements and invitations to each graduating student. You and your guests are all strongly encouraged to attend the reception following the ceremony.

We are under contract with Grad Images Photography Marketing, and they will offer students the opportunity to purchase portraits taken at graduation. No outside source photographers will be permitted in the Broad Auditorium.

Please inform us of any of your guests’ special needs as we will need to accommodate them accordingly. Contact Jeavon Inniss at jinniss@barry.edu or by phone at 305-899-3266.

Students, please inform your guests of the following information:

  • There will be no reserved seating. Seating at right, front of auditorium will be reserved only for hooding parties (relatives who will be hooding you on stage). If you need to make changes to your hooding party, you must let us know a week before the event.
  • Food and/or beverages are not allowed inside the auditorium.
  • Guests are asked to turn off all electronic devices during the ceremony.
  • Your guests are encouraged to attend the reception following the ceremony the Health and Sports Center Gymnasium at the R. Kirk Landon Student Union.

Thank you for your attention to these details. Graduation will be a special time for all of us, and the sooner we can complete these details, the sooner we will have time to relax and enjoy the Class of 2020’s graduation!
