Volunteers to Clean up Virginia Key Beach this Saturday

This Saturday, a group of Barry volunteers will take a trip to the Historic Virginia Key Beach for a day of Service. They will clean up the beach and shoreline and help to restore the marine ecosystem.

Volunteers are asked to register in CEMS, the Community Engagement Management System, as soon as possible.

The Saturday of Service is on the schedule for the 75 Acts of Service initiative in celebration of Barry University’s 75th anniversary.

Organizers of March for Babies Seeking Volunteer Support

March of Dimes is seeking volunteer support for its March for Babies event, which will take place on April 30 at Nova Southeastern University.

The proceeds will “benefit all babies – those born healthy and those who need help to survive and thrive,” the organizers say.

Each year in Florida, one out of nine babies is born premature. March of Dimes, the leading nonprofit organization for pregnancy and baby health, spends 76 percent of the money raised from March for Babies on research and support programs.

The March of Dimes Broward Division is seeking volunteers for the day of the event. Volunteers will assist during one of two shifts, 6 a.m.–noon or 8 a.m.–1 p.m. Each volunteer will be assigned to the Kids Corner, Spirit Stop, Champions Club, Main Stage, Family Tent, Photo Zones, Start Line, Finish Line, Registration Information, Food Court, or First Aid.
