Dr. Lacey received her PhD and MSW from the State University of New York at Albany. She also received a MEd from the University of Vermont. Prior to receiving her PhD, she worked as a case manager in an area agency on aging, a long term care ombudsman, a hospice social worker, and a research social worker. Dr. Debra Lacey, Associate Professor of Social Work, School of Social Work, is a licensed clinical social worker with expertise in gerontological social work. She regularly participates in presentations to geriatric professionals on social work interventions with people with dementia and end-of-life issues. Dr. Lacey also specializes in advancing learner-centered approaches to teaching and curricular development with special attention to best practices in mentorship of adjunct faculty members.
