Children in the Workplace Policy

University Administration | Student Handbook

The purpose of this policy is to safeguard against injury to minor children on campus and to discourage the distraction caused by having children around the workplace and classrooms.

This policy applies to all faculty, staff, and students

Policy

Bringing a child to the workplace or academic environment should be the exception, not the standard.  Consultation and approval by the immediate supervisor or faculty member is required in advance.

The child cannot be disruptive to the work or academic environment.  The presence of the child must not negatively impact the work productivity of the employee, other employees, or students.

Consideration must be given to the concerns of others.  If complaints arise, the child cannot remain in the work or academic environment.

Minor children must be closely supervised whenever they are on campus.  The employee or student is responsible for all acts of the child.

The University does not accept any liability to children who are on campus.
