Community Learning Partnership of Greater Miami Shores (CLP) 2nd biennial conference: "At the Heart of 21st Century Learning"

The Office of Mission Engagement in collaboration with the Adrian Dominican School of Education and the School of Adult and Continuing Education invite you to attend the Community Learning Partnership of Greater Miami Shores (CLP) 2^nd biennial conference: At the Heart of 21^st Century Learning.

Location: Miami Country Day School

This professional development opportunity is free to all CLP partners, including Barry University faculty, staff and students. Three keynote presentations will be offered throughout the day along with breakout sessions delivered by public, private school teachers, Barry university faculty, and local business professionals.

Sessions will address the theme of the conference, the “Whole Educator” and present critical issues in K-12 education with opportunities for dialogue and discussion regarding best practices.  Keynote speakers will include:  Arthur Agatston, M.D., author, The South Beach Diet, Alberto Carvalho, Dade County Superintendent, and Bena Kallick, Ph.D., Author, Habits of Mind series. 

All interested educators, parents, community, and corporate leaders are encouraged to attend this year’s conference.  Barry hosted the last conference in February 2010 with internationally known speaker Daniel H. Pink, author of A Whole New Mind. Over 350 local educators participated in the conference which was also streamed to Hunan University in China. An additional 500 community members heard Pink’s lecture.
