Come participate in a dynamic musical theater performance by adding Beats, Melody, and Rhyme to your words at MEzCLANDO

Calling all actors, musicians, singers, and playwrights. Learn how to tell a powerful story by adding beats, melody, rhyme, and a chorus to your words. Join bilingual theatermaker, writer, and producer Paul S. Flores for Mezclando: Theater, Beats and Melodies.

We will write and perform dramatic monologues, persona poems, and raps about immigrant journeys and essential workers in the community. Then we will add music composition, beats, and melodies to create a dynamic musical theater performance.

The event will be facilitated by Flores, a nationally produced playwright, HBO Def Poetry performer, and Doris Duke Artist. The beats and samples will be provided by Dj Leydis, the first female hiphop DJ in Cuba. Bilingual English/Spanish is encouraged. Participation is limited to 25 students, so book your place today.
