MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—The Barry University women’s basketball team moved to 4-0 on the season with an 82-69 win over Caldwell College on Tuesday night.

The Bucs came out hot on their way to a 24-9 lead with 10:14 left in the first half. The Cougars (0-4) stormed back as Mackenzie Lynch and Kaitlyn Lambert combined for 14 down the stretch to bring the game to 33-32 at halftime. Mariesa Greene led the way for the Buccaneers in the first half, scoring six points while Shana Suttington, Princess Bailey, and Kristy Singletary had four each.

Barry opened up a small lead in the second half before a three-pointer by Lirsty Leedham tied it at 39-39. The Cougars hung close until a three-pointer by Lucy Martinez with 10:05 left in the game gave the Buccaneers new life. The Bucs closed out the second half scoring 23 points with the help of six by Bailey in the final eight minutes of the game.

Greene led the way for the Bucs, scoring 23 points, 12 coming in the second half, and grabbing 15 boards for the double-double. Both numbers arecareer highs. Singletary added 16 points and Bailey helped with 12.

The Buccaneers are on the road for their next three games, beginning with Western State on Friday, Nov. 28 at 4:30 pm.
