DECATUR, Ala.—The fourth-ranked Barry Buccaneers split a pair of games at the Charger Chillout at Wilson Morgan Park in Decatur, Ala., on Friday. The Bucs beat Augusta State 1-0, but fell to Columbus State 2-0.
 
In the opening game, senior lefthander Amber Jack (4-1) struck out a career-high 13 batters and Shyla Rider singled in Brianna Smith in the second inning with the only run. Sara DeMuth (2-3) took the loss for Augusta State (7-4) allowing just the one run on four hits with four walks and five strikeouts.
 
 In the second game, Columbus State (6-8) scored twice in the fifth inning as Sarah Moore doubled in April Jowers and later came in on a dropped pop up. Kristi Bullard (2-5) tossed a complete-game shutout, striking out eight and scattering seven hits. Smith (1-1) took the loss in relief of Paula Mackin. Smith went four innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on two hits and struckout three without a walk.
 
The Bucs will face Bellarmine and host Alabama-Huntsville on Saturday.
