Women's Soccer Stops Spartans in Overtime

TAMPA, Fla.—Barry University (4-10-0, 2-4-0 SSC) posted a 1-0 win over Tampa (6-8-1, 2-3-0 SSC) in Sunshine State Conference women’s soccer action at Pepin Stadium on Saturday night.
 
Melissa Madrid took a feed up the middle from Michelle Tarasiuk and stepped around the Spartan defense to launch a shot from 22 yards out that found the back of the net.
 
The Spartans held a 23-7 edge in shots, but it was 4-4 on goal with Madrid getting the only one that counted. Emily Pratt had four saves to earn her second win, while Kendall Bourdon had three saves for the Spartans.
 
The Buccaneers are in action at home on Tuesday, Oct. 20 at 7:00 pm against Palm Beach Atlantic.
