Baseball Drops A Lengthly Heartbreaker To Tampa

TAMPA, Fla.— The Barry University baseball team lost a long 8-7 heartbreaker to the Tampa Spartans on Friday evening.
 
The Spartans (39-6, 17-1 SSC) struck first in the second inning scoring four runs off of three hits and a Buccaneer error.
 
The first Buccaneer (25-14, 8-8 SSC) run came in the fifth inning when Nick Shaw reached home on a wild pitch. The Buccaneers got close in the sixth inning, scoring six runs off of four hits and a Spartan error to cut the Spartan lead to 8-7.
 
Yet Barry was unable to hold off the Spartans, and went on to fall by a run.
