Men's Tennis Falls To Tenth-Ranked Concordia

MELBOURNE, Fla.— The top-ranked Barry University men’s tennis team dropped their second match of the season on Friday afternoon in a 6-3 loss to #10 Concordia.
 
The Bucs picked up one point in doubles action where Sergio Velez and Ollie Lemairte beat Tamas Dobrotka and Geza Bazula 9-7 in the third flight.
 
The Bucs dropped the other two doubles matches where Max Wimmer and Quentin Vachez lost 8-6 to #14 Andrey Boldarev and Daniele Piludu at the top flight, and Emanuel Fraitzl and Marco Mokrzycki dropped an 8-3 match to David Tisserand and Felix Missal at No. 2.
 
In singles action, the Buces earned two points while Concordia too the remaining four. Max Wimmer, ranked #26 in the country, beat #39 Piludu 6-3, 6-4 at No. 2. Quenton Vachez downed Tisserand 6-0, 0-6, 6-2 at the third flight.
 
Fourteenth-ranked Boldarev beat Fraitzl 6-1, 2-6, 6-4 at the top flight. At #4 singles, Dobrotka beat Mokrzycki 6-3, 6-4. Bazula defeated Velez 7-6 (8-6), 0-6, 10-6 at number five, and Andreas Lindell downed Lemaitre 6-4, 7-6 (9-7) in the sixth flight.
 
The Bucs return to action tomorrow against Flagler at 11:00 am.
