MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Brad McAllister was dealing, and the Buccaneers put an end to a four-game skid.

Barry delivered in a game it needed badly, beating Florida Tech, 8-3, Tuesday night at Feinbloom Field. The Buccaneers (4-5) picked up their first home win of the season with some clutch, two-out hitting.

McAllister worked eight innings, allowing seven hits, one earned run and struck out six to pick up his first win of the year. He threw 105 pitches, hitting the mid 80s on the radar gun.

"Mac came out there and gave us another great outing, and we had some timely hitting tonight," Buccaneers coach Marc Pavao said. "Big regional win."

The Buccaneers scored five runs in the third, all with two outs. First baseman Sheehan Planas singled in a run, and shortstop Adrian English drove in three runs with a double to center. English scored on an error to give the Bucs a 5-1 lead.

After the Panthers (8-3) scored once in the fourth, Barry tacked on another in its half of the inning on Lyndon Coleman's RBI groundout. The Buccaneers scored twice more in the sixth on Planas two-run double to right-center.

"Planas and English had two big, clutch hits," Pavao said.

Planas and English each went 2 for 4 with three RBI. Coleman was 2 for 5, and Michael Slabach collected three hits in five at-bats.

Florida Tech's Scotty Ward suffered the loss, allowing seven hits, six earned runs and two walks in four innings.

Jose Vazquez went 3 for 4, and Tyler Doughty drove in a run for the Panthers.

"We took advantage of scoring opportunities, which we haven't done all year," Pavoa said.

The Buccaneers play at the Valdosta State Classic this weekend, beginning with Friday's 7 p.m. game against VSU. Barry will also play West Florida and Delta State in the three-game trip.
