St. Petersburg, Fla. – Barry University men’s soccer team fell to Eckerd College Saturday night, 3-0, dropping a third consecutive match in Sunshine State Conference play.

The Buccaneers entered the match winners of two straight and were coming off an overtime victory over unbeaten Palm Beach Atlantic in their strongest offensive performance of the season.

Eckerd (4-4-1, 2-1-1 SSC) set the tone early as Matt Dolan put home the Triton’s first two goals of the match in the seventh minute mark and again in the 73rd minute of the game.

Barry (3-5-0, 0-3-0 SSC) was out-shot 15 to 9 on the night.

Joe Swindel put the game out of reach in the 81st minute with a goal and the Tritons went on to win by a 3-0 final.

The Buccaneers hope that a return to the friendly confines of Buccaneer field will help jump start an offense that has scored just seven goals in eight games.

Four of the Bucs’ next five matches are at home including a three-game home-stand beginning Wednesday, Oct. 3 versus Tampa.

The Bucs knocked-off the previously 8th ranked Spartans in their first meeting this season and will look to capture the season sweep.
