Softball Earns NFCA Academic Awards

LOUISVILLE, Ky.—On the field and in the classroom, the Barry Buccaneers continue to be one of the top softball teams in the South Region. After making the regional tournament last year, they also earned a spot on the National Fastpitch Coaches Association’s Division II All-Academic Teams with a 3.321 team GPA.

The Bucs finished third in the region, and second in the Sunshine State Conference, among eligible teams behind Valdosta State (3.51) and Rollins (3.47). Overall, Barry was 33rd among the 264 NCAA Division II softball programs.

Additionally, nine players earned NFCA Scholar All-America honors: Sarah Broeseker, Megan Copeland, Lexi Corrente, Camille Czarnecki, Kayla Monroy, Taylor Sabol, Anyelit Sequera, Hannah Shy and Alexis Yohe.
