Lambda Chi Chapter 25th Anniversary Celebration & Gala

Lambda Chi represents Barry University’s chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI) the Honor Society of Nursing. Sigma Theta Tau International provides nurses with resources to develop their professional leadership skills and opportunities to engage with other nursing leaders.

STTI is the only organization of its kind for nursing professionals, and the Lambda Chi Chapter is proud to celebrate STTI’s 25th Anniversary with an evening of networking, music, dinner and cocktails at the Signature Grand in Davie on Saturday, October 24 from 6 -11 p.m.

Gala guests will hear from engaging past presidents and STTI members who will share their memories and experiences as part of STTI Honor Society. Both Dr. John McFadden, Dean of CNHS, and Dr. Tony Umadhay, Assistant Dean, will be on hand to greet guests and share their personal stories.

Tickets are $125 per person and include dinner, music, live entertainment and open bar.

Please RSVP no later than October 10, 2015.

ABOUT SIGMA THETA TAU

Research. To encourage the advancement of nursing science through research around the globe, the Foundation’s Research Permanent Fund provides funding for small and collaborative research grants. In 1936, Sigma Theta Tau International funded the first nursing research grant in the United States. Now the Foundation — in collaboration with grant partners and thanks to donations from members, chapters, and friends of nursing — provides more than US $130,000 annually from the research permanent fund in research grants to nurses around the world.

Leadership. To enable deserving nurses from around the world to participate in STTI leadership and educational programs such as the International Nursing Research Congress and the Biennial Convention, Leadership Education Grants are awarded from the Foundation’s Leadership Fund. The fund also supports membership subsidies to help students accept and members maintain their membership when faced with financial hardships or natural disasters.

Future. To ensure we are the global organization of choice for nursing, donations to the Foundation’s 21st Century Permanent Fund support emerging initiatives that positively impact world health. For example, the Maternal-Child Health Nurse Leadership Academy Africa — funded by Johnson & Johnson — helps nurses who are improving maternal-child health care outcomes. Additional financial support needed is provided from the 21st Century Fund.
