Newsletter - Spring 2001 NIH-MBRS SCORE: Dr. Gerhild Packert will become a principal investigator on the MBRS SCORE grant. She received an award to study Gene Regualtion in Drosophila. NIH-MBRS RISE: SNHS received a four-year grant to increase student and faculty biomedical research skills. Each year, six undergraduates will carry out research on- and off-campus, attend scientific meetings, and participate in GRE and graduate school workshops. Faculty will experience summer research internships and attend scientific meetings. There are currently openings in the MIRT program for graduate and undergraduate summer research in: Italy, Jamaica, Korea, and England. The deadline for applications is February 14, 2001.
