Maria Abreu: was accepted into the Post Baccalaureate Program in Biomedical Sciences at Vanderbilt University, TN. January 2004.

Poincyane Assis received the Outstanding Sophomore Award in the Physiological Sciences at ABRCMS, San Diego, October 15-18, 2003.

Poincyane Assis and Gesulla Toussaint were invited back to their summer host institutions in December 2003, University of Florida –The Whitney Laboratory, FL, and University of Missouri-Columbia, MO, respectively to work further on their summer research.
