This specialization is CACREP-accredited and includes the academic requirements for certification as a mental health practitioner and for licensure as a Mental Health Counselor. This Program provides the necessary coursework to prepare students to function as a Mental Health Counselor in applied settings.

Counseling (MS) Specialization in Rehabilitation Counseling

This specialization provides students with knowledge and skills for counseling the physically and mentally disabled. The Program includes coursework and clinical experiences to increase the student's understanding of counseling for various rehabilitation populations and settings.

This specialization is CACREP-accredited and approved by the Florida State Department of Education to prepare school counselors at the elementary and secondary levels and leads to Florida certification in Guidance and Counseling PK-12. Provides the necessary coursework to prepare students to function as a School Counselor in applied school settings, including counseling students, and consulting with teachers, administrators, and parents within the school setting.

The Literature track prepares you for a variety of career options through increasing your skills in written communication, critical and creative thinking, research, and analysis. Majors have gone on to careers in teaching, law, and business.

English (BA) Professional Writing

Study all forms of writing and prepare for a career in fields such as business, health care, law, desktop publishing, technical writing, editing, public relations, television and media, journalism, and advertising. Internships in the South Florida Metro area add to your educational experience.

Exceptional Student Education (BS) ESOL Endorsement

The BS degree program in Exceptional Student Education (ESE) provides a comprehensive background for education professionals who are interested in working and addressing the needs of children and youth with varying exceptionalities. This is a State Approved program that includes the English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) competencies, and which enables candidates to graduate with an ESOL endorsement in addition to their certification in ESE (grades K-12).

You must be a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to apply for admission to this option which allows you, if you meet the qualifications, to test out of some nursing coursework. Students can enroll on a full-time or part-time basis.

Nursing (BS) RN to BSN Option

If you graduated from a state-approved diploma or associate degree programs in nursing, you can apply for admission to this option. Classes are held in the afternoon and evening to accommodate the work schedules of registered nurses.

Nursing (BS) RN to BSN/MSN Option

If you are a Registered Nurse (RN) with a bachelor's degree in a field other than nursing, this option allows you to move more quickly into advanced nursing practice by earning the MSN without first earning the BSN.

Nursing (BS) RN w/UG degree out of field

This unique program is designed for Registered Nurses (RN) who have a BS/BA in a field other than nursing. Coursework is identical to the RN to BSN option, but students may be exempted from some prerequisites.

Nursing (BS) Second Bachelor's Degree

This accelerated program is designed for students having a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a field other than nursing. Some of your previous coursework may apply to prerequisite course requirements.

Degree is not DOE-approved for the Florida reading certification, but offers the coursework that meets the state's requirements for reading certification.

Reading (Endorsement only)

This endorsement is DOE-approved to meet the state requirements for the Florida reading endorsement. Its target audience is those teachers who hold a Florida professional educator's certificate and who wish to add the Florida reading endorsement to that certification.

Reading (MS)

This degree is DOE-approved to meet the state requirements for the Florida reading certification and prepares the educator to become a reading specialist, reading leader, reading coach, or reading resource person who works in the K-12 school environment.

RN with Non-nursing BS/BA (MSN Bridge Option)
