Women's Golf Finishes Sixth FGCU Invite

Final Round
ESTERO, Fla. – The Barry University women’s golf team finished sixth out of a six-team field at the Florida Gulf Coast Invitational on Sunday. The Buccaneers finished with a two-round score of 637 (+61) with individual rounds of 315 (+27) and 322 (+34) on the 6,029 yard, par-72 Miramar Lakes Country Club course.
 
After finishing the first round in second place, host Florida Gulf Coast fired a second-round 313 (+25) to finish as the tournament team champion with a two-round score of 620 (+44). Bethune Cookman finished with a two-round 622 (+46) score in second place, while Florida Atlantic carded a two-round score of 623 (+47) good enough for third. Stetson (+55) and USC-Upstate (+58) finished fourth and fifth respectively.
 
Barry’s RemiJin Camping continued to be the Buccaneer leader. She finished with a two-round score of 153 (+9) in sixth place. Johanna Soderstrom finished T12 with a two-round 157 (+13), while Isadora Stapff finished T19 with an 18-over-par 162. Anna Haglind (+23) finished 25th out of 30 individuals and Cristina Coll (+25) finished T26th to round out the Buccaneer individuals.
 
Florida Gulf Coast’s Heather Hagerman (+2) fired two consecutive rounds at one-over-par for a two-round score of 146 to finish as the tournament individual medalist.
 
The Buccaneers will return to action at the NSU Fall Classic hosted in Palm Beach Fla. at PGA National on Oct 15-16.
First Round
ESTERO, Fla. – The Barry University women’s golf team is currently in fourth place out of a six-team field at the Florida Gulf Coast Invitational on Saturday. The Buccaneers finished with an opening round score of 315 (+27) on the 6,029 yard, par 72 Miramar Lakes Country Club Course.
 
NCAA Division I Florida Atlantic is the current team leader with a first-round score of 296 (+8), while host Florida Gulf Coast finished the first round in second place with an opening round 307 (+19) score. Stetson is currently third with a first-round 312 (+24) score, while Barry is fourth. Bethune-Cookman rounded at the top five teams at 317 (+29).
 
Barry’s RemiJin Camping is the current Buccaneer leader with an opening round of 75 (+3) and tied for sixth out of 30 individuals. Johanna Soderstrom is currently T15 with a first-round of 79 (+7). Anna Haglind is 19th with a first round of 80 (+8) and Isadora Stapff is currently T20 with a first-round score of 81 (+9). Cristina Coll (+12) fired a first-round 84 score to round at the Buccaneer five.
 
Florida Atlantic’s June Bolme is the currently individual leader with an even-par score of 72.
 
The final round will begin with an 8 am shotgun start on Sunday, Sept. 30.
