MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—The Barry Buccaneers fell 1-0 to the Eckerd Tritons in Sunshine State Conference men’s soccer action at Buccaneer Field Saturday night.

Luke Sheekey scored the game’s lone goal for Eckerd (8-4-0, 1-2-0 SSC) on a 30-yard free kick at the 15:01 mark.

The Bucs (5-5-1, 0-2-1 SSC) missed a golden opportunity in the 26th minute. Henry Apaloo was taken down in the penalty box by Triton defender Richard Spencer. But Eckerd keeper Jim Lebonitte guessed right on the penalty kick and made the save.

The Bucs held a man advantage for the last 27:26 after Mikhail Turner was sent off after a cleat-high tackle, but could not take advantage.

The Bucs travel to Lakeland, Fla., on Saturday, Oct. 6 to take on the Florida Southern Moccasins.
