MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – Camilla Pagnan (Jr., Morro da Fumaca, Brazil) recorded a match-high 16 kills and hit a .484 clip to help the Barry University volleyball team to a 3-0 win over the St. Thomas Bobcats on Tuesday night at the Health & Sport Center. The Buccaneers ended a three-match losing streak winning by game scores of 30-18, 30-17, and 30-20.
Barry dominated the match from opening serve finishing with a .389 team hitting percentage to the Bobcats .111. The Buccaneers hit over .400 in two of the three games faltering only slightly in the second set with a .303 team percentage.
Pagnan finished with a match-high 16 kills, hit a blazing .484 clip and added eight digs to lead the Buccaneers. Romina Powers and Miesje-Sable Burton each added six. Maria Romanowski was charged with 39 assists, while Lauren Evans matched a team-high eight digs.
Adriana Montilla led St. Thomas with nine kills and a .148 clip. Both Maria Roman and Ashlee Guerrero followed with eight kills apiece. Julianne Rivera dished out 25 assists and recorded a team-high seven digs.
The Buccaneers will return to action on Friday, Oct. 12 in Tampa, Fla. taking on the top-ranked Spartans at 7 pm.
