MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—The Barry Buccaneers were mauled by the Florida Tech Panthers 3-0 at Buccaneer Field on Tuesday night in Sunshine State Conference men’s soccer action.

After a scoreless first period, the Panthers (3-8-2, 2-4-1 SSC) struck three times in less than six minutes to secure the win. In the 64th minute, Nicolas Garcia played a ball all the way through the Bucs’ defense from the left wing and Edward Oyarce ran on to knock in the first goal.

In the 68th minute, Stephen Hume failed the clear the ball out of the zone and Stephane Leys took the ball in one on one with keeper Devala Gorrick who was helpless to stop the shot.

Finally in the 70th minute, Caleib Lynch threw the ball in to Oyarce who dribbled through the defense and ripped a 25-yard shot for the final score.

Oyarce was whistled for his second yellow card and sent off just 0:54 seconds later, forcing the Panthers to play down a man over the last 20:00 minutes, but the Bucs (5-8-1, 0-5-1 SSC) could not crack the goal.

Cory Collins had three saves to earn the win for the Panthers, while Gorrick made two saves for the Bucs.

Barry travels to Tampa on Saturday, Oct. 20 at 4:30 pm, before closing the season against Saint Leo at home on Friday, Oct. 26.
