Women's Basketball Drops Finale To Sharks

MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—The Barry Buccaneers dropped their regular season finale 42-39 to the Nova Southeastern Sharks on Saturday in the Health & Sports Center in Sunshine State Conference women’s basketball action.
 
The Bucs took a 36-35 lead at the 2:14 mark, but Ashley Wilson hit a three-pointer and a jumper in the lane on back-to-back possessions and Abbie Tepe hit one of two from the with 0:15 seconds left to make the final margin.
 
Princess Bailey led the Bucs with 12 points, while Stephanie Sarosi led the Sharks with 13 as the only players to reach double figures in a tight defensive struggle.
 
With the win, the Sharks (21-6, 14-2 SSC) clinch the overall first seed in the upcoming SSC Basketball Tournament. The Bucs finish tied with Rollins for third, but will be the fourth seed based on tiebreakers.
 
The Bucs will host a quarterfinal game in the HSC on Tuesday, Mar. 4 at 7:00 pm against an opponent to be determined.
