MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – The Barry University men’s basketball team took advantage of strong performances in each half to stifle Puerto Rico-Cayey, 74-29, Tuesday night at the Health and Sports Center.

The Bucs (2-0) benefited from balanced scoring, as 11 players recorded at least a point, with Chad Bishop recording a game-high 13 points.

The 29 points allowed were also a school record for fewest points allowed. The old record was 33 points allowed against St. Thomas on Dec. 3, 1994.

Barry began to pull away from Puerto Rico-Cayey (0-7) halfway through the first half following a Bishop layup, then a three-pointer from Zach Trapp expanded the lead to 13.

Jeran Morris capped the first half with a thunderous dunk to help give the Bucs a 22-point lead at the break.
Bishop continued to catch fire all over the court in the second frame, as he hit a pair of three-pointers to complete his game-high scoring night.

Karega Tucker finished off his double-double night with a free throw with five minutes left in the game.
Tucker finished with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Jeran Morris recorded a career-high 10 points off the bench for the Bucs.

Barry will hit the road for their next contest when they battle Palm Beach Atlantic on Saturday beginning at 4 p.m.
