Men's Tennis Beats up on Division I Georgetown

MIAMI SHORES, Fla.— The Barry university men’s tennis team continued their winning ways on Monday, beating up on Division I Georgetown (1-12) 8-1.
 
The Bucs started the day off correctly, taking two of three doubles matches.  Ales Svigelj and Andrew Sharnov took the doubles one slot, beating David Tillem and and Michael Clarke 8-6.  In number three doubles, the Bucs earned another win by Jakub Fejfar and Roman Werschel who beat Kenneth Wong and Adam Gross 8-5.
 
In singles action, the Bucs took all six spots.  Emanuel Fraitzl, Sharnov, Werschel, Fejfar, Sergio Velez, Marcello D’Armas won in spots one through six respectively.
 
Earlier in the afternoon, the Buccaneers were tabbed the top ranked team in the country by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
 
The team returns to action on Wednesday against Division I opponent Bucknell at 3:00 pm.
