MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – The Barry University baseball team saw a rain delay stop some of their momentum and after returning five hours and forty minutes later, Florida Tech rallied to defeat the Bucs, 6-4, Saturday night in Sunshine State Conference play.

After the Bucs jumped ahead 3-2 heading into the fifth inning, the rains came.

Once the lengthy delay let up, play resumed, which the Panthers took advantage of.

Florida Tech tallied a pair of runs in the seventh and the eighth to put the game out of reach.

The Bucs threatened in the ninth, as Mitch Rodriguez delivered an RBI single, but with the tying run at the plate, a groundout ended the game.

Tyler Carman pitched five solid innings out of the bullpen for the Panthers, tallying his second win of the season, as the lefty allowed just five hits and one earned run after the rain delay.

With the delay taking the action late into the night, the teams had to push their doubleheader back to Sunday, in which a regular nine inning game will take place beginning at 11 a.m.
