MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—The Barry Buccaneers swept a pair of 1-0 ballgames on Sunday from the Eckerd Tritons to take the Sunshine State Conference softball series 3-0 at Buccaneer Field.

The first game, which was suspended on Saturday, went to the Bucs (18-9, 5-1 SSC) as Brianna Smith and Amber Jack combined for their second straight no-hitter and Amanda Goelz scored the only run of the game when she doubled in the sixth inning and came around to score on an error by Triton shortstop Janielle Sedoris.

Smith (6-4) went six innings, walking three and striking out eight, while Jack came on with two aboard in the seventh and retired the Tritons in order to earn her second save of the season. Alex Koronkeiwicz (5-10) took the loss for Eckerd, despite tossing a complete game. She gave up six hits and a walk and struck out four.

In the final game, Jack (12-5) pitched another complete-game shutout, holding the Tritons (12-21, 0-6 SSC) to three hits while striking out nine.

The Bucs got their only run in the fifth. Sara Hipson led off with a bunt single and came around on an RBI double by Brittany Anderson.

Mackenzie Dawson (6-6) was the hard-luck loser for the Tritons. She went the distance, allowing the one run on seven hits.

The Bucs are back in action at Buccaneer field on Monday, Mar. 23 at 5:00 pm in a non-conference matchup with Southern New Hampshire.
