Women's Soccer Drops SSC Opener To Sharks

MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—The Barry Buccaneers fell 2-0 to the Nova Southeastern Shark to open Sunshine State Conference women’s soccer action at Buccaneer Field on Tuesday.
 
The Bucs (1-2-0, 0-1-0 SSC) surrendered a penalty kick in the 26th minute as Alexis Hernandez converted the penalty. In the 35th minute, Hernandez lifted a cross from the right side and found Kesiah Wattley’s head for the second goal.
 
Sarah Glass stopped 14 shots for the Sharks (2-0-0, 1-0-0 SSC) as the Bucs held a 14-8 edge in shots on goal. Emily Brunschweiler had six saves for the Bucs.
 
Barry hosts NAIA sixth- ranked Northwood on Friday, Sept. 11 at 7:00 pm.
