WINTER PARK, Fla.—After trailing by 10 at the half, the Barry women’s basketball team cut the Rollins Tars lead down to six but simply could not suppress the Tars offense, losing 58-38.
Sophomore guard Shanna Suttington led the Buccaneers with nine points. Suttington also pulled down three rebounds.
At the 13:26 mark in the second half Suttington poured in a layup to cut the Rollins advantage to six. Rollins then went on a 16-1 run to extend the lead to 21 with 03:58 to play in the game.
Barry star Mariesa Greene had a frustrating night going 2-6 from the field with five points. Greene posted a game-high eight rebounds. Throughout the game Greene received a Rollins double-team the moment she touched the ball.
The next action for Barry is this Saturday against Palm Beach Atlantic. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m., with pregame coverage starting ten minutes before on the Buccaneer Broadcasting Network.
