      Barry University provides you with the knowledge and support you need to develop professionally in order to propel your career to the next level. We offer master’s and doctoral degrees in The Bahamas in a cohort format, making it convenient for you to attend graduate school.

      • EdD in Organizational Learning and Leadership with a specialization in Educational Leadership begins September 2014 in Nassau.

      MS in Organizational Learning and Leadership

      This master's program focuses on the needs of today's organizations that emphasize employee performance improvement through learning. Educators and professionals are able to specialize in the field of interest.

      EdD in Organizational Learning and Leadership with a specialization in Educational Leadership

      The EdD program provides you with the knowledge and skills to evaluate, design, and apply research to make a positive difference in the lives of students, families and all members of the educational community. Learn how to apply and translate research into practice, analyze problems of practice and use multiple frames to develop meaningful solutions. The mastery of these skills is demonstrated through a capstone project.

      MS in School Counseling

      This program provides you with the knowledge and skills to develop, implement, and evaluate a PK-12 comprehensive developmental guidance program. Graduates will be able to demonstrate knowledge of legal and ethical standards relevant to school counseling, demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to consult with teachers, administrators, parents and other professionals within the school setting. Graduates will be able to also apply appropriate processes and technology in comprehensive counseling program development, implementation, and evaluation that include counseling, prevention, intervention, diversity, and advocacy.

      Autism Education Certificate

      This certificate is designed for those who hold a bachelor's degree and work with children with exceptionalities. You may complete the four courses within two short semesters to qualify to teach students with autism.

      Additional Bahamas Programs

      MS in Curriculum and Instruction Specialization in Early and Middle Childhood

      This master's program is designed for Preschool - 8th grade teachers. Students will enhance curriculum expertise, pedagogical knowledge, and teacher leadership with an interdisciplinary specialization which focuses on increasing content area knowledge.

      MS in Exceptional Student Education

      The MS in ESE (special education) offers a comprehensive understanding of various exceptionalities and the acquisition of valuable inclusionary strategies to meet the unique individual needs of children in elementary, middle, and secondary schools.

      Part-Time Master of Social Work (MSW) 60 Credit Program

      The Part-Time Master of Social Work (MSW) program is designed to allow students who cannot pursue full-time study to work toward a MSW degree on a structured, time-extended basis. Students may apply to either the Advanced Standing or Traditional MSW program as a part-time student. We offer evening and weekend classes to accommodate the work schedules of part-time students.

      Master of Social Work (MSW) Advanced Standing 32 Credit Program

      The Advanced Standing Master of Social Work program allows BSW students to complete the MSW program in one year. Students may also elect to attend on a part-time basis, which allows for completion of the program in 4 consecutive semesters. Advanced Standing applicants must have completed an undergraduate degree in social work from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education and meet certain other specific requirements. Students in the Advanced Standing program complete 32 credit hours of required social work courses and electives.
