Program Overview Organizational Leadership, EdD
The EdD in Organizational Leadership is a practitioner-doctorate program that prepares future and present leaders to develop essential knowledge and skills in solving complex problems of practice to improve the performance of organizations in both educational and non-educational settings. This program is centered around the goal of improvement and growth, both on individual and organizational levels.
Based on the Carnegie Project on the Education Doctorate (CPED), the EdD prepares you to become a well-equipped scholarly practitioner who meets the organizational and educational challenges of the 21st century. You will be exposed to real-world problems of practice, integrate both your professional and research knowledge, use multiple frames to construct meaningful solutions, and develop and demonstrate collaboration and communication skills.
The Education Doctorate (Ed.D.) in Organizational Leadership offers specializations in Higher Education Administration and Human Resource Development (HRD).
The EdD in Organizational Leadership is:
-
Real-world focused
Unlike a traditional Ph.D., our EdD curriculum stresses practical leadership skills and supports your personal goals through a dissertation project rooted in identifying and improving a real-world issue within an educational system. -
Progressive
Our curriculum is based on the Carnegie Project on the Education Doctorate (CPED) and prepares educational leaders ready to meet the challenges of the 21st century. -
Designed for busy professionals
Classes meet once per week in the evenings, while dedicated faculty mentors offer continuous support. Most of our students work full time and still manage to complete their degree in approximately 3 years! -
Affordable and accessible
At $850 per credit, our program adheres to Barry’s desire to make a high-caliber education available to all. We also do not require the GRE for admission.
