A message from the Dean Dr. Jill Farrell

By now, we have all felt the impact of COVID-19 in some way, and I’ve seen firsthand how it has impacted our institution. With the exception of students who were unable to travel home, campus remains closed and everyone is taking classes remotely. Now, more than ever, Barry University must take extraordinary measures to ensure the future of our educational mission while also protecting the health and well-being of our school’s global community.

Operational flexibility is guiding faculty, staff and administrators to rise up and face these trying times with resiliency. Together, we are fervently working to respond to the situation with quick adaptation and swift acclimation while continuing to deliver an uninterrupted first-class education to our amazing students. Contributions from donors, like you, to the Barry Opportunity Fund immensely help us in these efforts.

Today, I am reaching out to enlist your support on behalf of a student in critical need of funding. Several undergraduates at BarryU are feeling the effects of this crisis personally and are in jeopardy of having to pause or withdraw from school. By contributing a minimal amount of $2,500 per year for four years to our Opportunity Scholarship, you are directly supporting a Buccaneer that needs financial assistance to stay in school while alleviating his/her monetary constraints. Once we receive your generous donation, you’ll be connected to the student that your funding has helped.

The ongoing health crisis has abruptly and forever changed the world and has drastically affected degree-seeking students everywhere. At BarryU, we can change how our treasured students respond to this uncertainty by solidifying their commitments to graduating and by supporting their future success.

With gratitude,

Dr. Jill Farrell
