Application Procedures

Barry University accepts applications on a rolling basis. However, it is in your best interest to apply as soon as possible. Please note that general admission to Barry University does not guarantee acceptance into all academic programs. Consult the academic requirements for your academic area of interest.

First Year Applicants Are Required To Complete The Following Application Process:

  1. Complete an online undergraduate application by creating a myBarry account or submitting a Common App. (There is no application fee.)
  2. Submit transcripts from all secondary and post-secondary institutions.
  3. Barry University reviews applications for test-optional acceptance. Freshmen domestic students may opt-in either when they apply, or if they have already applied.
  4. If you do not meet the requirement to test-optional acceptance, SAT or ACT scores are required for students (applies to students under the age of 21). When submitting an ACT and/or SAT score you may:
    • Request that official scores be sent to Barry directly from the testing agency.
      The Barry University code for SAT I: 5053; ACT: 0718.
    • Self-report your scores on your application. Enter your highest score for each section exactly as you receive them. If you are self-reporting your scores, you will be required to submit official score reports only if you are admitted and choose to enroll.
  5. If you have completed a G.E.D., forward the official results of that examination and the high school transcripts documenting your secondary education.
