The Honors Program at Barry is designed to challenge, enrich, and prepare especially motivated students to pursue their fullest potential. By participating in a rigorous curriculum rounded out by an array of edifying and interactive events, students explore crucial issues that we face in our daily lives. Students are given the space for discussion and debate and the opportunity to learn from experts in their fields. The Monsignor William Barry Memorial Library is located in the center of the beautiful Miami Shores campus of Barry University. The Library is named in loving memory of Monsignor William Barry, one of the founders of Barry University and an inspirational figure in the Catholic Church within the Archdiocese of Miami. The extensive Library research collections include more than 950,000 physical items, over 40,000 print and on-line journal subscriptions, and several thousand on-line books and streaming video resources.

We are an NCAA Division II school and a member of the Sunshine State Conference with 12 varsity teams, including men's baseball, basketball, golf, soccer and tennis; and women's basketball, golf, rowing, soccer, softball, tennis and volleyball. So far, we've won 24 NCAA championships, had 338 All-Americans, 413 Scholar All-Americans, and nine NCAA "Women of the Year" finalists, the most of any Division II school. Not bad at all, but we're going for more.

Doctor of Podiatric Medicine

Doctor of Podiatric Medicine Admission Requirements

You need a minimum of 90 semester hours of undergraduate study at an accredited institution in order to be considered for Barry University's School of Podiatric Medicine. The university prefers the completion of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college of arts and sciences in the United States.

The School of Podiatric Medicine seeks to identify and recruit those students most likely to succeed in podiatric medical education regardless of age, race and ethnicity, religion, gender, or sexual orientation. Though an official MCAT score is required for admission it is not needed to be granted an interview. BUSPM also welcomes applications from veterans of military service.

Biology - 8 semester hours
General or inorganic chemistry - 8 semester hours
Organic chemistry - 8 semester hours
Physics - 8 semester hours
English - 6 semester hours
- ******Barry University will accept prerequisite courses graded P/F or C/NC that were taken during semesters affected by COVID-19.
Recommended courses are in cell and molecular biology, genetics, anatomy, physiology, and biochemistry to strengthen premedical background knowledge.
One (1) letter of recommendation from a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine.

A personal interview arranged by invitation-only from the Admission Committee. Prior to the interview, applicants should visit at least one office of a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine to discuss and observe the practice of podiatric medicine (a letter confirming that visit is required).
You must submit a TOEFL examination score, if the primary language of the institution where you received your university/college degree is not English.
- The Internet-based test (IBT) scores range from 0 to 120. Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine requires a score of 100.
