Biography
Kativon is the Community Resources Coordinator for MCO and oversees the Food Pantry, Bucky’s Boutique, and Barry Urban Garden. She received a masters degree in Community Well-being from University of Miami where she specialized in community-based-participatory-action research (CBPAR) with organizations such as PowerU, Dade County Street Response, and Miami Homes for All addressing issues such as housing, the school-to-prison pipeline, and restorative justice. She is passionate about collaborating with oppressed communities to address social problems through mutual aid, education, art, and people-power-building. She was born and raised in Los Angeles by Egyptian immigrants. Kativon loves nature, poetry, and liberation theology.
