Biography

Dr. Ahjané Billingsley is a community psychologist whose work focuses on fostering belonging, well-being, and personal and community transformation. She is passionate about accompanying students as they discover who they are, deepen their sense of purpose, and engage meaningfully with their communities.
Ahjané's experiences include teaching in Japan, serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Micronesia, and conducting community-based research. Ahjané earned her Ph.D. in Community Well-Being from the University of Miami, where her work explored restorative and healing-centered approaches to community well-being, empowerment, and social change. With more than fifteen years of experience across higher education, international education, and nonprofit organizations, she has dedicated her career to uplifting the strengths of individuals and communities and fostering our capacity to support one another.
Outside of work, Ahjané enjoys exploring new places, spending time in nature, and pursuing creative projects. She has traveled by motorcycle from Florida, USA, to the country of Panama and loves hiking to hidden waterfalls, gardening, crafting and DIY projects.
