With a career rooted in academic support, legal education, and bar exam preparation, Professor Vickers is deeply committed to helping students succeed both in law school and as they transition into the legal profession.

Prior to joining the Barry Law faculty, Professor Vickers served as the Assistant Director of Academic Success and Bar Preparation at Howard University School of Law. Her approach combines rigorous skills training, individualized study planning, and performance-focused feedback on practice exams. She has worked with students across multiple jurisdictions and designed strategies that complement commercial bar prep courses. In addition, she has provided mindset coaching to address the psychological and emotional barriers students often face when preparing for the bar exam.

Professor Vickers’ background also includes litigation support and judicial clerkship roles in Washington, D.C. and Delaware, where she worked on complex matters in family law, mental health, juvenile justice, employment discrimination, and civil rights. These professional experiences inform her teaching and mentorship, allowing her to provide students with both doctrinal knowledge and practical insight.

A frequent presenter on bar preparation and legal education, Professor Vickers has been recognized for her contributions to the profession, including multiple Guest Panelist of the Year awards from The Color of Excellence. Her work has been featured on the D.C. Bar Blog and the You Are A Lawyer podcast, where she shares her passion for equitable legal education and student success.
