Biography
Professor Allen has been practicing as a physician assistant since graduating with a Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Eastern Virginia Medical School in 2008. She earned her bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Tennessee, where she worked in orthopedics alongside the UT team physicians for over 11 years.
She has served as a physician assistant within the Veterans Health Administration for the past two years under the Ambulatory Care Service and also has prior experience in urgent care and aesthetic medicine. Professor Allen has held multiple leadership positions within the Tennessee Academy of Physician Assistants, notably serving as Vice President, Regional Director, and Chair of the Government Action Committee. She has represented the profession on Capitol Hill during the 2018 and 2019 AAPA Leadership and Advocacy Summit. Additionally, she is the former Chair of the FAPA Legislative and Government Affairs Committee and maintains active membership in the organization.
