Biography
Dr. Stephen E. Sussman is Professor of Public Administration at Barry University’s Andreas School of Business and Public Administration. He holds a Ph.D. in Political Science with a specialization in Public Law and brings extensive experience in public policy, administrative law, and governance.
Dr. Sussman’s teaching and scholarship focus on administrative law, public management, public policy analysis, constitutional issues, and contemporary challenges to democratic institutions. His scholarship explores the relationship between law, governance, and civil society, with particular attention to constitutional principles and public discourse.
He has presented his research at academic conferences in the United States and abroad and writes on issues involving law, governance, and contemporary public policy challenges.
At Barry University, Dr. Sussman teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in Public Administration within the Andreas School of Business and Public Administration. He mentors students in applied research and capstone projects and integrates Barry University’s Core Commitments into his teaching.
Dr. Sussman is co-founder and co-president of the Palm Beach Center for Democracy and Policy Research, a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing informed civic dialogue, public policy scholarship, and community engagement. He is also a Research Fellow with the Institute for the Study of Global Antisemitism and Policy and is engaged in academic initiatives addressing contemporary antisemitism and democratic resilience.
Through his teaching, scholarship, and civic engagement, Dr. Sussman seeks to strengthen democratic institutions, promote ethical public leadership, and contribute to the common good.
