Biography

Dr. Kratimenos serves as Assistant Professor in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Barry University. She teaches core and advanced counseling courses at the Master’s and Doctoral level. She also
serves as Owner and Qualified Supervisor of Sound Mind Counseling, providing clinical services and supervision to registered interns. Her background includes community mental health, substance abuse
treatment, and counseling in integrated behavioral health settings. 

She holds national and state leadership roles and serves on multiple university governance committees. She currently serves as President-Elect of the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) and is Past President of the Suncoast Mental Health Counselors Association (SMHCA), where she previously served as President, Interim President, and President-Elect. She also serves as Treasurer of the Florida Counselors Association Foundation (FCAF) and served as Secretary of the Florida Association for Counselor Educators and Supervisors (FACES).

Research, Publications, & Clinical Projects

Dr. Kratimenos’ scholarly work focuses on trauma-informed care, dual diagnosis and integrated treatment, multicultural counseling, counselor self-care, and leadership development. She has authored professional
publications, a guided reflective journal, and presented nationally on trauma resilience, eating disorders, addiction, ambivalent loss, and culturally responsive counseling practices. She has also received funded grants supporting initiatives related to cultural competence, inclusive practices, and innovation in counselor education.
