Biography

Dr. Cooperman has been a practicing physician assistant since 2003. Her current area of clinical practice is emergency medicine and urgent care. She is licensed in the state of Florida, and maintains National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) certification. Dr. Cooperman is an active member of the Florida Academy of Physician Assistants, the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Physician Assistant Education Association. She was on the board of directors for the Broward County Medical Association from 2012-2015. Dr. Cooperman has been in PA education since 2009. She is an associate professor and has been the Program Director at Barry University since 2018. She earned a BS in psychology from the University of New Mexico, a Masters of Clinical Medical Science from Barry University, and a Doctor of Health Science degree with a focus in Healthcare Education from Nova Southeastern University. She has delivered poster and podium presentations at a variety of conferences, and is a contributing author to a PA review book. She was inducted into the Pi Alpha National Honor Society for Physician Assistants in 2013. Her areas of interest include andragogy, student engagement, and teaching biomedical ethics to health professionals.
