Biography

Raul Machuca joined the Counseling program in 2011. He holds a BS in Psychology from Universidad Nacional De Colombia and a BA in Public Administration from Escuela Superior De Administracion Publica. Dr. Machuca also holds a M.Ed. in Counselor Education and a Ph.D. in Counselor Education from the University of New Orleans. 

Dr. Machuca has over two decades of experience across academic, clinical, and administrative settings. His leadership includes serving as Associate Dean, Program Director for master’s and doctoral counseling programs, Clinical Director of a university-based counseling center, and Mental Health Rehabilitation Program Director in community agencies. He is a Past President of the Florida Counseling Association and has held sustained leadership roles within Chi Sigma Iota, the Counseling, Academic and Professional Honor Society International at the chapter, state, and national levels. 

Dr. Machuca is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a Qualified Supervisor for clinical mental health and marriage and family interns in the state of Florida, a Certified Cognitive Behavioral Therapist and a Diplomate of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy as well as a Board Certified Telemental Health Provider (BC-TMH).
