
Biography
Dr. Dessources, is an Assistant Professor of Medical Education in the Barry University PA Program. She is a board-certified Physician Assistant with clinical experience in Emergency Medicine, Urgent Care, and Dermatology. Dr. Dessources earned her Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc) degree from the University of Lynchburg in 2022, her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MSPAS) from the City University of New York School of Medicine (CUNY School of Medicine), and her Bachelor of Science in Public Health from the State University of New York at Old Westbury (SUNY Old Westbury). She has practiced as a PA since 2020, demonstrating a strong commitment to patient care and medical education.
Beyond her clinical duties, Dr. Dessources founded and leads a health coaching practice specializing in women’s health, particularly Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). She has developed evidence-based strategies to help women improve metabolic health, fertility, and overall quality of life - knowledge that informs her teaching on patient-centered care and chronic disease management. Dr. Dessources is dedicated to mentoring the next generation of Physician Associates, blending her diverse clinical background with her experience in health coaching to prepare students for compassionate patient care.
