What is your favorite location on campus? The outdoor area in the Fine Arts Quadrangle, facing the pottery studio, is my favorite spot on campus. It offers a variety of seating options that allow me to relax, enjoy the natural surroundings, and find peace while working on my homework.

Why did you choose Barry?
The main reasons I chose Barry University are its diverse community and the personalized attention it offers. As a Caribbean woman from Haiti, it is important for me to feel at home and have the opportunity to connect with people from different cultures. Additionally, since I plan to attend medical school, being in a supportive learning environment where I can build strong relationships with both my peers and professors is crucial. These connections will not only enhance my academic experience but also help me secure meaningful letters of recommendation.

Why am I a student ambassador?
I am a student ambassador because of my passion for the school and my drive to make a positive impact. During my freshman year, I began as a Senator of Student Services for the Student Government Association and was quickly promoted to Senate Chair. Through various leadership roles, I’ve demonstrated my commitment to connecting with others. As a student ambassador, I have the opportunity to engage with prospective Barry students and families, showcasing the many resources available on campus. I take pride in creating an inclusive environment where values like truth, knowledge, social justice, and collaborative service are shared, all within just a few minutes on my campus tours.

Tips for someone searching for the right college?
My first piece of advice for students is to identify your priorities when choosing a school, whether that’s academics, financial support, or the campus community. Knowing your priorities will help you make the best decisions and keep you on track. My second piece of advice is to take a campus tour, it gives you a sense of the environment and helps you envision yourself there. My third piece of advice is to stay true to yourself and be authentic throughout the process, but also remain flexible and open to new experiences. This applies to everything, from choosing your major to the friends and community you build. These three tips are essential to make the best decision that aligns with your goals, but understand that things may not always be perfect. Being open to change and flexibility is key.

Service opportunity that you've participated in?
I volunteered at the Lotus Women’s Shelter, and it was a rewarding experience because I had the chance to directly impact the lives of women in need. The shelter supports survivors of domestic violence by offering safe housing, counseling, job training, and legal assistance. It also helps women transition to independent living and provides services for children. In 2023, the shelter assisted over 300 women, helping them rebuild their lives and escape the cycle of abuse.

What are your future plans?
My future goal is to become a doctor, with a focus on either orthopedic surgery or neurosurgery. I’m passionate about connecting with others and making a meaningful impact. Knowing I can play a vital role in saving their lives and keeping them alive is incredibly fulfilling to me.
