Community of Healthy, Active, Motivated, Positive Students (C.H.A.M.P.S.)

Barry University’s Youth Development Program C.H.A.M.P.S. (Community of Healthy, Active, Motivated, Positive Students) serves students in grades 6-12. C.H.A.M.P.S. Program is funded by The Children’s Trust. The Children’s Trust is a dedicated source of revenue established by voter referendum to improve the lives of children and families in Miami-Dade County.

Goal

To equip youth with social, emotional, and cognitive skills that promote personal and academic success so that they can develop into C.H.A.M.P.S.- a Community of Healthy, Active, Motivated, Positive Students.

School Year (afterschool) program:

  • Academic Success
  • Social-Emotional Learning
  • STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math
  • Project-Based Service-Learning and Civic Engagement Projects
  • Educational Field Trips

Summer Program:

Open for any student in grade 6-12 that attend Miami-Dade County Public School.
