How to Complete the FAFSA

CREATE YOUR FAFSA ID

Your FSA ID is the username and password you'll use to access all federal student aid systems. If you don't already have one, create it at the Federal Student Aid website.

GATHER THE DOCUMENTS YOU'LL NEED

Before starting your FAFSA, collect the foliowing information:

  • Your Social Security Number
  • Your parents' Social Security
    Numbers (If dependent)
  • Federal income tax returns and
    W 2 forms
  • Records of untaked income (if any)
  • Bank statements and financial information

START YOUR FAFSA APPLICATION

Visit studentaid.gov and begin a new FAFSA for the correct academic year. You can save your progress and return any time.

ADD BARRY UNIVERSITY

When asked to list your school, enter Barry University's official Federal School Code; 001466

ENTER YOUR FINANCIAL INFORMATION

You may be able to use the lAS Direct Data Exchange (DDX) to automatically transfer your tax information. If not, you can enter the details manually. Accuracy is important - errors may cause delays.

REVIEW AND SUBMIT

Go through each section and confirm everything is correct. When you're ready, sign using your FSA ID and submit. You'll receive a confirmation email once your FAFSA is processed.

REVIEW YOUR  STUDENT AID REPORT (SAR)

Your SAR summarizes the information you submitted. Check it carefully and correct any errors right away.

FOLLOW UP WITH BARRY UNIVERSITY

After Barry receives your FAFSA, the Office of Financial Aid may request additional documentation. Be sure to check your Barry email and student portal regularly so you don’t miss important updates.
